Multiple choice

See that gleem in my eyes? Is it:

a) the light of Christ (I was baptized on Saturday, pictures to come)
b) a spark of determination to squeeze as many parties and "deats" out of this birthday as I can
c) a glimmer of the terrible/terrific twos
d) the glazed-over result of croup, a cold, a cough and the cocktail of drugs Mom made me take so she could get some rest

All correct responses receive your choice of nose honk, high five or face lick. Bonus points for other creative guesses.

Could you mail me a piece of cake?

Dear Barritt,
A very happy Birthday to you. We were busy huting eggs and chocolate bunnies in the yard so we sort of missed it (well Miriam was sleeping during all this, so she missed a whole bunch of things...) but we send you a big big hug.

Maddie -

I got out an envelope to mail you some cake, because I knew when I went to bed last night that there were some considerable pieces left. However, on opening the refrigerator this morning, I spied only one piece left. Mom and dad refused to make eye contact.

Then they told me the true story of what happened to the cake:

the luna moth ate it.

I felt OK about that, because they only live a week, and he was on his seventh day.

Dear Barritt,
As i checked your blog with my mom,
some confusion arose in my house about the state of your lip... i remember that the last time i saw you, you had a rather tragic accident. Now however, you seem to do rather well (apart from that gleam in your eyes of course... but i won't get into that...), so i'm wondering (rather loudly and persistently according to said mom) if you're still hurt... anyhow. It's passed my bed time, so i'm sure that mom will get me soon...

Hmmm. That fall may have scarred you worse than it did me. True, there was an impressive amount of blood, but little long term damage. The only time Mom can see the scar is when I'm in the bathtub and my lip turns blue. I attribute my magical healing powers to having little boy genes, a daily regimine of yoga and 16 hours of sleep per day.
